Learning Update

In Literacy, we have been writing different types of texts. For example, we have had experience writing stories, biographies and information texts. As usual, we have been ensuring that our writing includes Year 6 objectives, such as relative clauses and a range of punctuation.

In Maths, we have been revising fractions. We have revisited each method and finished the unit by completing a test combining all of these methods.

In History, we have continued our latest unit, Britain at War. We have looked at the reasons why soldiers volunteered to fight.

In P.E., we have started practising rounders. We have learned the rules and have played throwing and catching (fielding) games. We have now started multi-innings rounders matches.

In French, we have continued to learn how to discuss World War II.

In Music, we have explored World War II propaganda songs.

In Computing, we have been working with Google Sheets. We have used formatting and functions to sort data in spreadsheets.

In Art, we have started our ‘abstraction’ unit by experimenting with line.

Coming up…

In Literacy, we will write short stories.

In Maths, we will calculate our future taxes!

In D.T., we will design, create and evaluate bridges.

In Art, we will experiment with abstraction using colour.
