Learning Update

Literacy

In Literacy, we debated: ‘Should areas of sea be preserved and protected from fishing?’ We looked at the reasons for and against this argument. We then adopted a neutral stance and wrote balanced arguments. 

Maths
In Maths, we have been learning about fractions. We have added, subtracted and multiplied fractions as well as converting them to equivalents and also solving word problems. 

History
In History, we have been learning about the transatlantic slave trade. We looked at what life in plantations was like for the slaves, including the work, auctions and the tactics - employed by both the slaves and the slavers. 

PE

In PE, we have been dancing and playing football - although not in the same lesson. We have looked at the best techniques for passing and dribbling so far.

Music 

In Music, we have been learning about different time signatures.

Coming up…

We will start the book ‘The Promise’ in Literacy. 

In Maths, we will convert units of measurement.

In History, we will look at the long-term effects of Maafa.. 

In Computing, we will look at data sets and how to filter them..
