Fundraising in Autumn 2020
A huge well done to the fundraising team and an enormous thank you to all of our parents for helping the school to raise vital funds over the last term.
This term's events have raised:
Winter Walk £3492.50
Non-Uniform Day £123
Advent Raffle £92
Christmas Raffle £188
Oaklands fundraising committee is now established with a core committee who are working hard to raise funds for the school. If you can offer time for organising events, an hour to man a stand at an event or can offer raffle prizes please let the school office know - we need you!
2017/18 proved to be a busy and successful year for Oakland’s Fundraising Committee.
Cake sales were held throughout the year, attracting fantastic support from the talented bakers amongst our parents and from those who bought our wares.
Following on from the popularity of the Winter Wonderland Autumn Disco we also held a summer ball - both events were well attended and allowed the children and teachers alike to showcase their moves on the dance floor.
Our Christmas Family Fair took place in December 17, complete with a magical grotto resided over by Father Christmas and a sack of gifts for those who made the journey to the North Pole. Plenty of festive fun was on offer and the opportunity to get involved in a variety of seasonal craft activities, whilst indulging in mince pies, hot chocolate and mulled wine. The children enjoyed some retail therapy in the Kid’s Market where they were able to select and gift wrap presents for parents and grandparents. In conjunction with the separate raffle to win a Lego Advent calendar, we raised over £2,500. This money, along with that raised throughout the year, will be used to invest in IT equipment to enrich the learning experience of all the pupils attending Oakland’s Primary School.
The school leadership would like to extend a public outpouring of thanks to the parents, grandparents children and staff who organise and support our fundraising events. Without the dedication of this great team we couldn't have afforded many of new purchases this year. We would also like to thank the many local businesses who provide generous raffle prizes that tempt us to buy raffle tickets every year.
2017/18 events contributed to the purchase of:
A new pergola and surrounding plants on the KS2 playground
An outdoor table tennis table
30 new laptops
21 new I-pads
A new PA system for Sports day
We're already looking forward to seeing what 2018/19 has to offer...
