Learning Update
Celebrations & Birthdays
We have been enjoying lots of sparkle and shine this term as we celebrate birthdays and special moments with the children. Our party time starts at 2:30 pm, where we come together for fun activities and treats.
Fine Motor Skills Activities
The children have been busy developing their fine motor skills through exciting and creative tasks such as:
- Confetti making
- Putting pom-poms on party hats
- Necklace making
- Sandwich making
- Playing with balloons and foam
Sensory Play
Our sensory activities have included:
- Searching for pasta and candles, counting how many we can find
- Finding the letter 'b' for birthday in foam
- Exploring coloured rice and identifying shapes
Maths / Messy Maths
In maths, we have been focusing on shape recognition:
- Identifying circles and triangles
- Identifying squares and rectangles
- Combining shapes to recognise circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles
Note: We have included additional lessons outside of the White Rose scheme to enhance learning.
Phonics
We are learning the Little Wandle sound ‘a’ through nursery rhymes and engaging activities repeated throughout the week to build familiarity and confidence.
Literacy
Our current story focus is Little Glow by Katie Sahota. The children have enjoyed listening to and exploring this lovely story multiple times to deepen their understanding and vocabulary.
Sensory Circuits
After our messy maths sessions, the children participate in sensory circuits designed to support their physical development and sensory processing.
Bucket Time & Party Poppers
As part of our Sparkle and Shine celebrations, the children enjoy ‘Bucket Time’ and playing with party poppers to add some extra excitement and joy to our days.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to more fun and learning as we finish the term!
