Welcome to Maple
Learning Update - Mrs Ward
This week in Maple class, the children have been exploring the exciting world of different types of shops. Through a range of hands-on and sensory activities, they have been learning about the role shops play in everyday life.
The children enjoyed role-playing as shopkeepers and customers, taking turns to “buy” and “sell” items, which helped develop their communication and social skills. They practised using simple language, exchanging money, and making choices about what they would like to purchase.
In Maths, we have been working on number-to-quantity recognition, as well as looking at prices in our class shop and using pennies to make the correct amounts.
In English/Phonics, we have been focusing on the sound ‘o’ and writing our own shopping lists and receipts.
We have also been practising cleaning our teeth in our life skills sessions and have received some great feedback from parents.
Next week, we have a fun week full of Easter activities planned.
Thank you for your continued support,
Miss Ward
