We strive to provide all children with the opportunity to experience success during their time at Oaklands Primary School.
Through the provision of a broad and balanced curriculum, we aim for all children, regardless of race, gender, religion or ability, to leave with the social and academic skills that will enable them to make a positive contribution to the future of the global community. We endeavour to arm them with the knowledge and opportunities to live a happy and healthy life.
Our curriculum documents have been created by the staff team at Oaklands Primary School. Reference has been made to the specific knowledge and skills required within the National Curriculum (September 2014) in addition to carefully thought out content that provides a broad and balanced curriculum that fits contextually with our pupils and our local community. Throughout our curriculum we seek to teach and instill the core British values of: democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and cultures.
Teachers will seek to deliver a curriculum in a cross-curricular way where opportunities to link subjects will be sought and where pupil interest will guide the strands of study.
